This Cardiac Science packaging exploration project focused on simple, less is more, one color printing approach for a non-retail product. The simplified visuals take on the easy to use key characteristic of the defibrillator that is housed inside of this packaging.

Phase II - Design Exploration

For packaging projects I normally model and render multiple box views in 3D from the provided dieline. I then explore the box graphics over the dieline and then wrap the graphic around each box face in Photoshop. This approach is extremely efficient and gets positive feedback from clients because they are accustomed to getting box artwork in the flattened/dieline format to evaluate. They love not having to visually wrap the faces around a box in their heads.

ABOUT RYAN

Being a Designer, I believe in exploring ideas from scratch – “from cardboard” if necessary. The mistakes made and thus the lessons learned from the rough first tries only builds knowledge from these trial and errors. I believe and thrive in the live / learn by doing process.
