Stunning simplicity

CATARACT SURGERY - Built for the next generation but ready for this one. The Stellaris PC is a high-performance feature rich combined platform that leverages Bausch + Lomb’ s history in retinal innovation to change the surgical landscape by delivering the ultimate in Procedural Choice. This is what I designed.

A NOTE from the designer

Not too often does a major medical redesign happen where a team is given the opportunity to design the exterior visuals, of a phaco unit, focusing heavily on the in-O.R. physical user interface / human factors as well as the Graphic User Interface of the unit. This project for Bausch + Lomb allowed me to design a product from the ground up with no limitations on aesthetics, but still stressing to the client that simple and ease of use are design characteristics that need to be applied to ALL aspects of the machine.

Simple, Logical Human Factors

One interface reduces steps in O.R.

Simple transition from phaco to vitrectomy .

Designed to Fit Your Needs

Sleek footprint maximizes space in the O.R.

Retina Today Review

The Stellaris PC platform software interface is straightforward and easy for the OR staff to master. Settings for the programmable footpedal and for each step of the procedure can be customized for each surgeon. These settings can be modified easily during the case and stored in the memory of the Stellaris PC.
