eyeBrain medical

Updated: Apr 19, 2019

For the first time, a new cutting-edge eye tracking device can objectively and accurately measure the degree of eye misalignment at distance and near. EyeBrain's system is shown to relieve headaches, neck/shoulder pain and eyestrain that many patients experience when using digital devices, reading or doing detail work.

I have worked with startups for 19 years and realize that they are playing with other people's money. Efficiency, experience, and honesty are my key traits that aid startups in bringing their vision to life in a timely manner. This is important so sales can be made and the money does not run out, right!

During EyeBrains's neurolens eye-tracking measurement, patients focus on a single point while a dynamic display of rotating planets and stars activate peripheral and central vision to measure distance and near eye alignment . When the eyes aren’t in sync, the brain must do the work to compensate for the misalignment. The additional work puts stress on the trigeminal nerve – the largest nerve in the brain and the one responsible for the majority of head and neck sensations.

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT

Industrial Design

Photo Realistic Renderings

Mechanical Engineering / Solidworks

Cost Reduction and Manufacturing Support

Human Factors

Phase I - Industrial Design

If you attended any medical trade shows in 2017 to see the eyeBrain Medical device people were talking about you probably saw the above - STRIPE - concept. This was chosen for a low production run for its ease of prototype construction and its large, removable side panels that made assembly and in the field adjustments easy for eyeBrain technicians.

Phase II - Industrial Design

In this Phase you can see the current look of the eyeBrain Neurolens device take shape. The DISH concept takes the intuitive oval feature developed in Phase I, that visually tells the user that your head goes here, and expands upon / refines this theme.

Phase III

Above is the final concept before all 3D models were handed over to EyeBrain's engineering staff for skin development and cost reduction.
