When the My Passport redesign came out, the design flaw was extremely apparent the first time a user handled the product. The gloss top picked up finger prints like an ink pad and when placed in a work bag the high gloss top section scratched like a lice ridden 2 year old. This design proposal would eliminate the gamer specific (new SKU) HDD that was under development as well as solve the scratching issue. Concept is similar to our colored grip pack - outer bumper - for the old My Passport.
Top elastomer shell adds a color change, fits over an existing product, and adds a "My Gamer Portfolio" card to remind the end user what games are currently saved to this drive.
