Lantern Clock Model 13

Updated: Aug 12, 2021

The clock comprises 12 laser cut spokes radiating from a circular center. Each end of the U shaped spoke has a one inch pine ball that marks an hour. Two hands - terminating in a simple wedge - indicate the time – a colored second had has a constant sweep. The laser cut on the edges of each part create a dark earth tone patina that contracts nicely with the light Baltic birch plywood front and rear faces. This is authentic handmade clock that is manufactured and assembled by the Artisian designer. Uses one AA battery (included). Made and designed in Huntington Beach by Ryan Redenbaugh.

  • Laser cut baltic birch plywood

  • Hours indicated by 12 wooden balls attached to laser cut spokes.

  • Two metal hands indicate time.

  • Solid Pine wood balls.

  • All Natural, non-toxic shellac finish.

  • Colored Second hand.

  • High-grade quartz clockwork.

My inspiration for the lantern series of clocks was a papercraft lantern art project from any child's schooling.

A simple and pure clock is a quintessential modernist accessory. Its playful composition expands an everyday item in a three dimensional direction yet keeping its bare essence, challenging what we think it could and should look like.

What this means is that I want to make sure that your plywood products are coming from sustainable sources and aren’t using endangered tropical rain forest or illegal sources.
